Christy Foster graduated with academic honors upon completion of a Bachelor of Music Performance degree from Oral Roberts University in 1997, and a Master of Music Performance degree from Texas Tech University in 1999. She is currently Principal Clarinetist & Alto Saxophonist in Tulsa's Signature Symphony at TCC, earning a co-principal spot in the clarinet section as a college student in 1995, and then was promoted to principal chair in 2010. 

​​​​​​Christy has held an adjunct instructor position at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma for over 20 years, starting in August 2002. She was the interim Instrumental/Orchestra Director of the O.R.U. Student Orchestra from August 2021-May 2023. Other courses taught at ORU include; teaching private clarinet and saxophone lessons, coaching chamber music ensembles, Woodwind Instruments, and Instrumental Pedagogy courses.  Christy is also a founding member of the all-female ORU faculty chamber ensemble, the "Divine Divas" trio, who can be seen performing at various campus-wide events.
In the summer seasons, Christy performrinet choir camps and teaches lessons from her private studio at home. In 2023 & 2024, she was invited to teach masterclasses and conduct the clarinet choirs at Coweta High School's annual Summer Clarinet Camp.  In the fall semester of 2023, Christy was artist-in-residence for Tulsa People's Orchestra inaugural chamber music series and she performed in and conducted the TPO's Clarinet Choir. In 2018 & 2019, she taught clarinet classes and led a clarinet ensemble for Saied Music Company's "Clarinet Players Club".
Christy has taught masterclasses on clarinet and saxophone in both Oklahoma and Texas, performed a number of solo & joint recitals, hosted her own music student recitals, has been an adjudicator for the All-State Band Contest in OK.

​Christy has performed internationally as principal clarinetist in the ORU orchestra in England, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, & Scotland. She also has performed for the International Clarinet Festival in Oostend, Belgium and in London, England with the Texas Tech Clarinet Choir.
Currently, Christy is Principal clarinetist for the Signature Symphony at TCC in Tulsa, OK., a member of the Tulsa Starlight Band, & has performed with "Tulsa Clarinet Quartet",   "Keys & Klarinetrixs" (a clarinet duo with piano), and the "Divine Divas" trio. Christy also plays alto saxophone for the Signature Symphony's Pops & Big Band Concerts and the "Swinging' Eights" jazz combo she created with her brother, Jonathan Foster back in the early 2000's. As a member of the Tulsa Clarinet Quartet, she was invited to perform at the University of Oklahoma's Clarinet Symposium, and for television spots on "Good Day Tulsa" to represent the Tulsa Starlight Band, and as soloist, as on other occasions as a representative from the Signature Symphony to advertise upcoming concerts.
Christy  has also been the contractor & music librarian for the Tulsa Clarinet Quartet, of which she has been a member since 2000. 

Christy free-lances in the Tulsa area, has subbed for the principal clarinetist or saxophonist for the Bartlesville symphony, and can be heard performing in various venues and churches in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. ​​​​​​

Christy is the mother of two kids.  She enjoys her ballet class, playing coed indoor soccer, scrap-booking, watching movies, taking beach vacations, & spending time with family and friends.
